A campervan kitchen is a sequence of small movements: open the cupboard, take out the prep container, prepare the meal and clear everything before the next journey. Fold-flat tubs help when each object has one obvious role.
Keep a dry-food container separate from the washing basin, even if both fold flat. The 8L locking-lid tub can hold a covered batch or carry vegetables, while a second basin can remain dedicated to cleaning.
Define one job per container
- A covered tub for dry or already prepared food.
- A basin that can receive water and dirty utensils without touching stored food.
- A drying cloth and an open-air spot that will not obstruct the walkway.
A campervan meal reset
- Take out only the containers needed for the meal and close the cupboard doors between tasks.
- Use the prep tub for the first food group, wiping it before a second group.
- Wash and drain the basin before the driving transition.
- Dry both containers where air can circulate, then fold and secure them before travel.
For one or two people, an 8L food tub plus a compact wash basin is usually enough. Larger batches need a 16L tub, but two separate 8L pieces can be easier to store and lift than one large container.
Storage that returns to order
The campervan kitchen stays usable when folded equipment goes back to the same shelf and is dry before travel. That routine matters more than owning another clever container.
